Photo scanning, by hand

Your old photos are in danger--danger of fading away, danger of being forgotten, and danger of being lost or damaged in a natural disaster. Photo scanning with scicphotostudio.com can save them, safely and affordably:

  • Scanned and repaired by hand, one-by-one
  • High 300 dpi resolution
  • Amazing value: Starting from just €0.25

Chances are, your old photos are some of most precious things you have. So when you send your photos off for photo scanning, you expect them to be treated carefully. That's why, at scicphotostudio.com, we handle your photos by hand, in every respect. To start with, we scan them one at a time, without the use of auto-fed scanning machines that can mangle your photos.

But where our handcrafted quality really shines is in repairing your photos. Where other services use a piece of software to guess its way through a batch of your most important memories, our service takes every single photo you send us and has it examined by a highly trained technician with a good eye and a terrific set of hands. And yet the service is not just affordable, it's much less expensive than many services with lower quality. So you don't have to make a hard choice between being able to afford to preserve all your memories, and being able to preserve them well. At scicphotostudio.com, you can do both.

Essentially every image we receive requires some correction for the effects of time. Photos on display are particularly subject to fading, and even those hidden away in photo albums are subject to color shifts (unless stored in subzero conditions), both from time and from possible reaction to the photo album itself. For every image we receive, we will manually perform:

  • Re-orientation
  • Cropping
  • Scratch and dust removal
  • Color correction
  • Red-eye removal

In short, for our standard level of service, a technician will spend approximately four minutes per image addressing all of the problems above, and then some. In our experience scanning millions of photos, this produces oustanding quality almost all of the time, for just pennies per image. (Some photos may be so damaged they require our restoration service).

How it works:

You gather all your originals (separated from the photo album) (special prices also if scanning directly from your album)

We scan and repair

You review and download all the scans from our website privately (we give you a personal password)

You can also do prints on different materials and delivered to your door

We return your originals (we can also provide you with a DVD)

You preserve and share your images

  • Amazing value, starting from €10 each.

While it's true that most of our restoration work is on heirloom photos that have somehow been damaged over time (which is surprisingly common), we can also "improve" an image, upon request. We can whiten teeth, remove a skin blemish, remove a person from a photo, or even place a new person into the photo. The sky is really the limit, simply tell us what you'd like and we'll let you know if it can be done.

Welcome!

Welcome!

At last I decided to move forward, following a great interest in my photographic work by many locals and also a big number of foreigners.  I have decided to focus more on images about our lovely islands Malta, Gozo & Comino.

From time to time I am receiving various requests for high quality photos to be used in publications, prints, merchandize, etc...

So I decided to create my own website, with my own images.  Hope you like the idea and make use of them.  Suggestions about this website will be greatly appreciated.

Kindly log in to keep updated with new photos, offers, etc....

Enjoy

Jürgen
